Biography Fascinated with the art and science of reflexology from personal experience, Mia D. Earl (TN) studied the Ingham Method of reflexology with the International Institute of Reflexology and was certified in 2008. Her educational pursuits culminated in a Ph.D. in Natural Health in June 2009, after having earned a Master’s degree in Public Health: Community Health Education from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1993. Mia has served in several training capacities including as a National Certified Trainer with the Girl Scouts of the USA. She is also a Certified Health Education Specialist with over 30 years of experience in program development, implementation and management. In full-time reflexology practice since 2011, Mia delights in speaking on reflexology and touching lives with the gift of her hands. Mia was elected to the RAA Board in 2012, highly qualified to play a key leadership role from having served on Boards of several other local and national organizations. She has served as Treasurer, Chair of the State Affiliation committee, co-Chair of the Membership committee, LE&OD Chair and RAA President 2015-2016. Mia has been trained by and facilitated LE&OD workshops with Reflexology pioneers Bill Flocco and Christine Issel. LE&OD workshop development and facilitation have included:
Her vision is to see RAA continue the highest professional standards for the practice of reflexology, increase the number of people who are educated about the benefits of reflexology, expand the public’s access to reflexology services, and have reflexology increasingly used as a complementary therapy within the health care system. Mia hopes to help create a unified voice with practitioners to strengthen the impact of reflexology around the world. |
