(Bill Flocco, pioneer of Integrated Foot, Hand & Ear Reflexology, author of the only reflexology study to be published in a US medical journal, and so much more that you’ll find in his conference presenter bio!), Linda hopes you'll be as intrigued as she is by what she's discovered and is presenting here. COURSE DESCRIPTION Exploring a Novel Set of Reflexes with Linda Frank, RF, NBCR, NCREd Learn about a fascinating biological process found in PTSD, migraines, hot flashes, essential hypertension, CRPS, & other conditions -- and discover how we might address this phenomenon reflexologically. We'll look at a couple of ways you can approach these novel reflexes and, if time permits, look at some familiar reflexes that may support them. Learning Objectives: · About the process of discovering this fascinating phenomenon; · About this unique example of the inter-relationship between Psychology, Neurology, Endocrinology and Immunology (sometimes called PENI, or PEN; or PNEI); · About one way allopathic medicine is treating it; · To locate these novel reflexes and incorporate them into your sessions and/or share them with your clients. Following an earlier corporate career with AT&T and IBM, she pursued a career in reflexology, which profoundly shaped her professional trajectory. She has developed extensive experience in working closely with clients to support health and well-being, and has trained numerous practitioners through her educational initiatives. Alongside her teaching, she maintains a busy private practice. Her clinical interests focus on the impact of reflexology on the endocrine system, with particular emphasis on fertility, menopausal symptoms, stress management, end-of-life care and working the face and hands, as well as the feet. Throughout her practice, Dr. James observed a gap between clinical experience and the research literature, recognizing that the lack of high-quality evidence limits practitioners’ ability to make informed, evidence-based claims and share effective techniques systematically. This observation motivated her to undertake a Professional Doctorate in Health Sciences at the University of Portsmouth, completed in 2024, resulting in two peer-reviewed publications. Her research seeks to enhance the quality and consistency of reflexology intervention reporting, addressing the frequent omission of detailed treatment protocols that hinders replication and translation into practice. Dr. James remains actively engaged in reflexology research and continuing professional development, presenting regularly at national and international conferences. She continues to combine her academic work with clinical practice, maintaining a commitment to advancing both evidence and practice in the field. Jackie’s website is: www.calminginfluences.com. COURSE DESCRIPTION How can reflexologists ensure that what happens in the treatment room is accurately and powerfully represented in published research? This seminar bridges the gap between everyday reflexology practice and the rigorous standards required to build credible research evidence. It also highlights the consequences of poor or incomplete documentation, including misinterpretation of interventions, reduced research quality, and the inability to replicate or validate findings—issues that will be examined and discussed in depth during the seminar. Drawing on findings from two recent studies that analysed reporting quality in reflexology research and developed enhanced guidance for improvement, this session demystifies what “good reporting” really looks like. Attendees will discover how to translate practical skills, treatment decisions, and therapeutic intentions into clear, structured intervention descriptions that stand up to scientific scrutiny. By the end of the session, practitioners will understand how effective reporting not only strengthens the evidence base for reflexology but also elevates professional practice and supports wider recognition of the discipline. Key Objectives Following the presentation reflexologists should: · understand the importance of comprehensive and transparent reporting of reflexology interventions in research, including how incomplete reporting affects evidence quality and reproducibility. · apply key principles and structured guidance (including TIDieR-informed elements) to accurately describe reflexology interventions for publication or professional documentation. LILA MUELLER Founder, Director, Ray of Hope Academy (WI)Wednesday, March 25, 2026 - 7:00 PM Eastern / 4:00 PM Pacific BIO Lila's passion for Reflexology began after she personally experienced profound healing from acute Fibromyalgia. Since then, she has dedicated her life to helping clients-men, women, and children-who suffer from complex and challenging health conditions with Reflexology. Driven by a desire to understand the root causes of these acute issues, Lila has studied reflexology techniques across the globe and trained with many of the world's most renowned Reflexology instructors. She holds many diplomas and certifications worldwide. Lila M. Mueller became a Certified Reflexologist on July 13, 2003 through the International Institute of Reflexology in St. Petersburg, Florida. On July 1, 2003, she founded Ray of Hope Reflexology, LLC in Belgium, Wisconsin-a practice she continues to operate twenty-two years and over two thousand five hundred clients later. On February 20, 2009, she earned her National Board Certification in Reflexology through the ARCS which she has currently upheld. On June 11, 2011, Lila launched a training academy dedicated to Reflexology and other natural therapies. She saw a need in the Midwestern United States to host a comprehensive Reflexology teaching academy. Training at Ray of Hope Academy is college-level, comprehensive, and intensive, with the goal of developing highly skilled and confident Reflexologists. To date, all graduates have completed more than 400 hours of live, hands-on instruction. Over the years, Lila has held a variety of Reflexology Association of America positions including that of President. In Wisconsin, Lila and D. Maureen Birchfield started the Integrated Reflexologists of Wisconsin, Inc.; The IRW has maintained memberships and affiliations since its creation in 2012. Since 2012, Lila has been the Reflexology Preceptor for the Integrated Medicine Rotation Program at St. Luke's Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Doctors regularly shadow Lila in the actual Reflexology session process. Lila was presented with the Leadership and Service Award from RAA at their conference in Chicago in 2018. Lila has been married for 59 years and is the mother of two children and grandmother of three.. COURSE DESCRIPTION The presentation will be interactive. Lila will explain the need for questioning the questions to find the root cause of the energy disturbance(s) indicated on the foot. This will go through all systems of the body and what to look for and why ask the question(s) of the client. TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) will aid in this process. Finding the source of the body’s energy distortion origin will assist the Reflexologist in freeing the disturbed energy thus allowing the body to heal itself. Learning objective: The Reflexologist student will learn and understand another way of approaching intake to discover area(s) that need addressing in a totally different format including adding TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine). Learning to ask the whys is vital to discovery of the root cause. One you treat the root cause, the remaining imbalances will correct themselves in most cases. Registration Link Coming Soon! |
